Heirs property—land passed down informally from one generation to the next without the benefit of a will that divides heirs’ interests—is socioeconomically and historically embedded with far-reaching implications. Irma Johnson and John Green will break down the economic and cultural issues related to these “tangled titles” and the resources that Extension agents and others have to assist with this issue at the community level.

Irma Johnson, Kentucky State University State Specialist for Family Assets and Community Engagement; Realtor and Real Estate Instructor, Century 21 Simpson & Associates

John J. Green, PhD, Director of the Southern Rural Development Center; Professor, Mississippi State University Department of Agricultural Economics; Affiliated Faculty, MSU Department of Sociology

Host:

Julie N. Zimmerman, PhD, University of Kentucky Milton Coughenour Professor of Rural Sociology, Department of Community and Leadership Development
